Two years after the launch of the third-generation ALPUR^® degassing system, nearly 10 units have already been delivered. Now this ALPUR^® G3 range has been extended to include the RS series and the first industrial equipment has recently been installed and successfully commissioned in the casthouse of a major European aluminium producer.

The ALPUR^® G3 RS has a rotary spout on both sides. At the end of casting, the vessel can easily be tilted, using a robust, straightforward mechanism, enabling the remaining metal to be automatically drained into the casting machine or poured back into the furnace, so that no metal is wasted.

Drawing on Novelis PAE’s long industrial experience in casthouse equipment, the RS design is based on a simple removable cartridge concept. Additional improvements make it easier for operators to maintain it, in just a few minutes.

The ALPUR^® G3 RS series combines the benefits of a big-box design with the advantages of a trough degasser, guaranteeing high degassing efficiency and enough hot metal in reserve to start the next casting operation. It is still easy to clean and particularly well suited to frequent changes of alloy.
