This new casting line is part of Gränges’ $110 million investment to expand production capacity in North America to meet growing demand for light-gauge foil, automotive heat exchanger materials, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications. It will produce high quality aluminium strip in 1000, 3000, 8000 alloys in width up-to 2320 mm. “The investment represents a long-term commitment to our customers, employees and shareholders as we grow in support of our strategic markets,” says Gränges Americas President, Patrick Lawlor.
The new caster will benefit from Novelis PAE’s latest technologies, including the newly developed ALPUR® G3 degasser and the “quick change” type tundish, which allows full flexibility and reduces downtime.
Novelis PAE is very pleased to consolidate its long-term cooperation with Gränges Huntingdon facility, which began 20 years ago.
